Idaho Bull Trout
Posted by fliesandfinswest on Monday, February 06 @ 18:42:22 PST
My friend and I got turned on to a pretty sweet situation in the Sawtooth's. It was early summer and the streams were a bit high with run off. Little did we know but this high water blows all the bait fish into the mouth of a huge, deep, glacial lake. What was there to scarf up the smolts? Huge, mean, angry carnivors. The Bull trout. The fishing was done at night. Late night, we started these outings around 12 midnight and hammered giant Bulls untill 4 in the morning. Then we slept for about an hour and fished the area freestones all day. we did this for a week straight and loved every second of it.
