Wooly Bugger: Indicator Or Not?
Posted by zazombie1 on Tuesday, September 26 @ 08:54:53 PDT
I am a beginner and have been fishing some very small creeks. In this situation would one normally fish a wooly bugger with a strike indicator or without one? What about bigger rivers? I have been fishing in the riffles and the runs. Are they better in the deep pools?

Re: Wooly Bugger: Indicator Or Not? by jason-c on Wednesday, September 27 @ 10:17:34 PDT http://www.fliesandfinswest.com | | I just returned from fishing some big water in Wyoming. We had great success both dead drifting and stripping buggers and leaches. Personally I think they work great both ways. When dead drifting in slow water I like to give them a little action with a small twitch. Really how and where you fish them depends on the fish. Change it up while you are fishing. See what works the best and go with it. Sometimes I have changed methods within one pool and had results stripping and dead drifting with an indicator. Hope that helps. |
