Provo River, Southern Wasatch, Utah: Wet Flies?
Posted by fishinbare on Thursday, February 15 @ 20:08:06 PST
I am fairly new to the sport and so have never fished a wet fly. I would like to go out in the early part of march to either the middle provo or some of the smaller southern Wasatch rivers. What type of flies and technique should I use being its my first attempt? Will Wet flies work. What will be the most effective?

I love fishing them and try thme year round. I find that they work well when fish are into streamers or when there is a decent hatch on. Right now Utah streams tend to be having some excellent dry fly action. Nymphing midges is super effective as well. |

There is a higher white fish pop, but some very good browns. I went this last weekend and they were feeding on 14 and 16 scuds and prince nymphs. That me be worth a shot. |
