Summit County Colorado Tips: Blue River, Snake River?
Posted by DavidJinPa on Wednesday, August 27 @ 14:12:21 PDT
I'm a slightly above amature Pennsylvania fly fisherman, that will be visiting family in Dillon, Colorado in a few weeks. I plan on trying my luck on the Blue below Silverthorne, and the Snake above Dillon Reservoir. Can anyone give me some tips on where I should concentrate my efforts? I'd like too stay semi close too Dillon due to limited vehicle usage, but from what I've seen on maps, it looks beautiful a few miles below Silverthorne. Will be practicing all catch, and release only also of course. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Summit County Colorado Tips: Blue River, Snake River? by jason-c on Wednesday, August 27 @ 14:17:32 PDT http://www.fliesandfinswest.com | I used to live in Breckenridge, CO. I fished the Blue below Dillon Res many times. It has had its ups and downs but there are some nice fish in there. Blue River Anglers right in Frisco will have all the info you need. I am not sure about the Snake. If I remember correctly that used to be off limits. If you are going to be all the way out there I would rent a car for a day and head over to the South Platte below Spinney Res. Hope that helps. Maybe some others have more to add.
